Whirlwind Easter

We had a great Easter weekend in KY with Matt's side of the family...just a lot of driving! We left late Thursday afternoon and drove in torrential rain for 6 hours and stopped right past St. Louis then woke up and finished the 4 hours left (once again in rain) on Friday morning. The rain was so rough at times it ripped our Post decal sticker right off of the windshield!

Kilian got to spend all weekend with his 5 cousins: Jenna, Ty, Jordan, Anna and Claire and got to see his aunts and uncles, Omi, Papa and Great Oma and Great Papa. We took a trip into Indiana on Saturday and visited Joe Huber Farm, Winery and Restaurant. Very cool place and I'd love to go back in the summer!

On Sunday we enjoyed all the Easter festivities: church, easter egg hunt, big meal and getting dirty with bubbles and mud the whole afternoon! We had a great time and I was happy Matt's extended family got to see him, it had been almost 2 years!

We came home with 5 Easter baskets of toys and candy! We had a 2.5 year old version of "the real meaning of Easter" with Kilian....its so easy to get caught up in the fun and gift giving of it all, but I think even at this age they can grasp a deeper reason behind it all. After I explained that Jesus takes away our sins and so on, Kilian asks "But Jesus doesn't my toys, just kins (sins)." lol.
